Silage Stretch Film Width and Pre-Stretch Ratio Explained
Silage stretch film comes in three standard widths—250 mm, 500 mm, and 750 mm—at thicknesses of 17 µm, 25 µm, and 30 µm. Most round bale wrappers in 2026 run 500 mm or 750 mm film with a 50–70% pre-stretch ratio. Wider film (750 mm) finishes a bale in fewer rotations, while 500 mm film gives finer overlap control and…

How Many Layers of Silage Film Do You Need? 4, 6, 8 Layer Guide
How many layers of silage film do you need? For most round silage bales, 6 layers of 25 µm stretch film applied at 50% pre-stretch is the industry standard. Use 4 layers for short-term corn silage consumed within 6 months, and 8 layers for high-moisture haylage or bales stored 18–24 months. Layer count affects oxygen barrier, UV protection, and bale…

How to Wrap Silage Bales: Step-by-Step with a Round Bale Wrapper
Bale it, then wrap it within two hours—that single rule decides more silage quality than the machine you buy. A properly wrapped round bale receives 4-8 layers of 500 mm stretch film at 50% overlap, takes 60-120 seconds on a modern wrapper such as the Taizy 4QM-1200 silage wrapper, and then keeps forage stable for 12-24 months in the field,…

How to Start a Rice Mill Business: 15TPD Plant Cost & ROI Guide
A 15TPD rice mill plant is the standard entry capacity for a rice mill business: it processes 15 tons of paddy per day (600-800 kg/h), achieves a milling recovery rate of 68-72%, keeps the broken rate under 2%, and runs on a total power load of only 23.3 kW. At that capacity, one shift converts roughly 15 tons of paddy…
